The FreeThought City Vision
FreeThought City is registered in the UK and incorporated in the USA.
FreeThought City is an ambitious attempt to provide something better than current social media platforms. It takes advantage of the technological developments that have occurred since the launch of first generation social media sites, which enable greater verisimilitude via high speed connectivity and touch scree n mobile devices equipped with selfie cameras. This coincides with our loss of camera shyness due to lockdowns.
FreeThought City is primarily a visual, audio, and face-to-face experience. It's about your relationships. It's a safe virtual city where you can meet existing and new friends who have single verified identities. It's a place where you can do things together.
Initially, we intend to target those who are already in the demographic of well-educated, skeptical, rational thinkers, but, once we have established a core clientele, we hope those values will extend to our friends in the wider community.
Let's leave behind the algorithms that reflect and reinforce our worst characteristics and immerse ourselves in a world that's how we would like it to be and let's appreciate art, theatre, music and sport while we are at it!

An Air of Togetherness
Citizens will be able to spend time with friends they already know, or meet new people in our virtual venues with close to real life experiences.
Experienced citizens will be able to show newcomers around the city, and score game points together...

Civil Society
FreeThought City is a private walled city. All citizens are Verified.
Nobody will be allowed in without registering, which will ask for a bank card. An active subscription is not required, however, an annual verification to keep everyone on the up and up.
This means that citizens will not be able to be anonymous, or have multiple accounts. Everyone will have a real identity and, therefore, a reputation to protect.
Citizens will be allocated a five ‘Sense’ civility status on sign up which will be displayed alongside their FreeThought City name (which could be a nickname if registered) visible to all and sundry. A half Sense will be deducted automatically for uncivil behavior such as the use of profanities or expletives. FreeThought City is a family friendly site.
Complaints of ad hominem attacks, hate speech or calls to harm others will be dealt with by our Judging Council. At the last remaining Sense, an opportunity for rehabilitation will be offered. When the no Sense situation is reached, a citizen will be banned.
These simple features will promote a society that is civil.

Time-Zoned Activity
FreeThought City will be synched to time zones so citizens will be able to connect with people who share their day/night cycle.
The sun will come up and go down and events will occur at appropriate times of day… This will promote a healthy sleep pattern.
You might meet a kindred spirit in a lecture, go to a movie together and, later, arrange to meet your new soulmate in real life…
This will facilitate merging one’s virtual life with one’s real life and actually meeting up with people for social or business purposes...

Community Connectivity
The opportunities for connection are huge. Whether it’s information, education, entertainment or a business service that you seek, all will be available in FreeThought City and, because it’s reasonably local to your neighborhoods, you will be able to extend your online contacts into real life relationships if you wish.
If you are a service provider or a performer, you will be able to find your clients or fans among the citizenry, build them into a group and stay connected.
If you are a consumer, you will be able to discover the creator that you love.
In reality, of course, most of us are both!

FreeThought city is primarily designed to be accessed on touch screen devices. Virtual joy sticks will appear when summoned in the bottom corners of the screen to enable citizens to move around and connect with each other.

MultiMedia Events
Scheduled Lectures and lessons will be presented at the FreeThought Academy for those who wish to study and, in the evenings, entertainment will be provided in the form of movies at the cinema and live shows in the Concert Hall. Citizens will be able to communicate face to face during these events and interact with live performers.
Live shows will be curated into genres, so performers will be able to grow their audiences by being on the same bill. Acts will be able to plug their own Patreon and YouTube sites.
Special events will be staged, such as exhibitions of artwork in the gallery, with images that could be purchased from the creators. There will always be something going on - it's a vibrant city!

Premium subscribing citizens will be able to purchase a plot and build their dream home, furnish it in their style and host their own events, sharing playlists and live streams in privacy together.

Membership
Becoming a member of FreeThought City is easy.
When you see our ads on existing platforms you just click on a link and go to Registration, then you simply choose the level you wish from the options available:
- City Visitor: $1/annum - access to all the public parts of the City - the streets, including the street entertainers, the art gallery, the academy, the museum, the arcade (as a spectator but not as a contestant).
- Citizen: $1/month - access to entertainment venues for public shows - the Cinema and the Concert Hall plus contestant rights to the arcade and game shows. Premium Events will require the purchase of tickets.
- Resident: $5/month - leasehold of property, right to design your own dream home or office. Access everywhere, including to premium events.

We have talented people helping us to develop this groundbreaking project from around the world.
- John Richards is a retired science teacher who just couldn't stop. John is involved in several worldwide endeavors, usually academic-based. From President of Atheist UK to driving his kids to school, John takes a more heartfelt approach to the advocacy of Science and Reason. John produces weekly shows on YouTube.
- Jason Hoblin is our technology support and development engineer. Based in Southern California, his twenty years as a WebAgent in IT will be key to our project organization and technology systems.
- Brian Gervaise is in Australia - he's our Musical Director - the composer and multi-instrumentalist responsible for all our music (teaser: he's co-written a song with Richard Dawkins that we will release soon),
- Tim Richards is coordinating Marketing as our representative New Zealander.
- Frank Lovell in Kentucky is collating academic content,
- RJ Downard is scheduling the movie content from his lair in Washington state and
- Howard Burman, a Northern Californian, is dealing with art exhibitions and live show
